250 will continue excavations at the Bowne House in the Fall 1998. This
is a three year project to test the Bowne House grounds prior to conservation

Bowne, an Englishman, living among the Dutch, was soon involved with the
Quaker controversy.

For those interested in the Dutch settlement of the Hudson River region,
the New Netherlands Project provides
a useful starting point for bibliography and links to sites of interest.
