I am always looking to mentor good PhD students interested in biogeography and evolution. The CUNY graduate center runs the PhD program in Biology (website), and I am a member of the doctoral faculty for the Ecology, Evolutionary Biology, and Behavior subprogram (EEB; website). To earn a PhD with me, you apply and enroll through the CUNY graduate center here, but are based in my lab at Queens College. However, my students tend to be free agents and take advantage of courses and personnel at several local Universities including NYU, Columbia, Stoney Brook, and the American Museum of Natural History. The CUNY graduate center guarantees all PhD students 5 years of funding, but if you have a strong background you will be considered for several fellowships. Applications are due in January.
