The purpose and founding behind this page and the all new Queens College Fish Collection has been to inspire interest in marine studies and possibly spark interest in a course of study at Queens College related to the study of fish. 

With the gracious donation of over 500 fish from the Smithsonian Institution, a team of Biology students, led by supervisor Dr. Pokay Ma have managed to begin organizing and classifying the fish and, as is demonstrated by this page, have begun to photograph and label the fish for internet use.
