Information below is special summer information, and is
in addition to standard eligibility criteria for each program. File all applications early. If aid you expect to appear on your Summer
bill is not on the bill, contact us before the bill due date.
TAP for Summer 05 is based on your 2005-2006 TAP
application. You must specifically
request Summer TAP on that application. To be eligible for Summer TAP, a
student must be full-time during the academic year; this is defined as
full-time either the Spring immediately before (Spring 05) or the Fall
immediately after (Fall 05). A student
must enroll in a minimum of 6 credits for Summer I / Summer II combined. Half a TAP payment is used for less than 12
summer credits; a full TAP payment is used for 12 credits or more. You must have formally declared your major
with the Registrar's Office before Summer classes begin if you will have 60
credits toward your degree. Students on
permit to QC can only be certified for TAP at their home school.
Students who are full-time in both the Fall and Spring
use their entire annual Pell eligibility in those semesters. To request Summer
as part of your 2005-2006 Pell award, you must file the FAFSA for the 2005-2006, and must request Summer Pell
in writing on a form available in the Financial Aid Office. Summer 2005 Pell from your 2005-2006 award
may decrease your Spring 2006 Pell.
Direct Loan
Direct Loan for Summer 05 is based on your new FAFSA application
for 2005-2006. After you file the FAFSA
and TAP applications, there is an additional application to file with a
Financial Aid Counselor. Ask us about requirements for filing the Direct Loan
Electronic Master Promissory Note.
Summer applications for Direct Loan are usually accepted
starting June 6, and you must be registered for at least 6 credits in
Summer I / Summer II
combined, or Summer II only. A 2.0 Cum
GPA is required for undergraduates after 28 credits; a 3.0 is required for
graduate students. You can file a
combined application for Direct Loan for Summer 05, Fall 05 and Spring 06
starting sometime in July if you are also registered for Fall 05 for at least 6
credits.
SEEK money for Summer 05 is based on your new FAFSA
application for 2005-06. PENDING
AVAILABILITY OF SEEK FUNDS, SEEK students who have not already received 2
summer payments can receive Summer SEEK money, if they are registered in 6
credits in Summer II, or in Summer I / Summer II combined.
Work-Study (FWS)
Students awarded FWS for Fall 2005 - Spring 2006 may use
their award during Summer 05 if they accept summer FWS placement off-campus in
an community service job. After you
receive your FWS award, see our FWS coordinator for more information and
additional eligibility requirements.
