Take a Hike!!!

Are you a couch potato??  If you aren't physically active, you are. And, if you aren't physically active, you're at risk for heart disease and other illnesses. BUT, you  can change your life. Queens College walking club. It's easy. The program doesn't involve any of the things people think of when they hear the words "physical activity". There are NO membership fees! And, there's NO costly equipment! All it involves is a brisk, 20-minute walk, at least three times a week!   That may be all the physical activity a person needs to reduce the risk of heart disease. And you'll be on your way towards managing a heart problem,  high blood pressure, a weight problem, diabetes, arthritis, osteoporosis,  and even anxiety or depression.

THIS IS AN ONGOING PROCESS -- You Can Join At Any Time!! You can contact Connie at 718-997-2760. Personal walking logs will be provided so that everyone can keep track of their progress, and work toward mileage goals and awards.

We have also measured 1/2 mile and 1 mile routes on campus for those who want to keep track of daily walking. Maps with these routes are available upon request at the Health Service Center.
