Professor Nora Glickman
Spanish Language
A playwright, a scholar and an educator, Nora Glickman is a professor of Spanish at Queens College. Born in La Pampa, Argentina, she has written extensively about contemporary Latin - American Literature. She is the author of Uno de sus Juanes and Mujeres, Memorias Malogros, two collections of short stories. Her first play Suburban News, which won the Jerome Foundation Drama Award in 1993, was produced at the Theatre for the New City in New York in 1994.Her play A Day in New York was produced by the Bridge Theatre of Miami in 1997, and was on tour with the broadway star Zohra Lampert. Another play - Liturgies
was performed this summer (1998) at the International Students Theatre Festival in Jerusalem. Glickman edited two volumes of Modern Jewish Studies: Critical Essays on Argentine Writers and Argentine Jewish Fiction
(in English translation)She co-authored Tradition and Innovation: Reflections on Latin American Jewish Writings (1993) and
A Critical Anthology of Argentine Drama (1996).
