Faculty Development Events, 2004-2005:
- On April 13, 2005 Myriam Met (NFLC
at the University of Maryland) will visit Queens College --- her alma
mater --- and will give a lecture titled "Becoming Interculturally
Competent".

scheduled for 4:30 to 6:00 pm, in
Kiely Hall, room 170.

- On May 5, 2005, the Third Encuentro of the
Revista Virtual will
take place at Queensborough Community College. The program this year is
titled "Universal Quixote", and will focus on the life and work of Cervantes,
commemorating
the 400th anniversary of the publication of El Ingenioso Hidalgo, Don Quixote
de la Mancha.
- At its May meeting, Jennifer Eddy (Queens College) will
speak to the CUNY Council on using assessment instruments to define the
structure and organization of the curriculum
- On March 18, 2005, Alicia Ramos and Annette Kym (Hunter College)
will organize a workshop on writing proficiency assessment, to be led by
experts from the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL).
- On March 21, 2005,
David VanEsselstyn (Long Island University)
will give a talk, titled "Building Technology-Based Projects into University
Teaching", at Queens College (12:15-1:30 pm, Godwin-Ternbach Museum,
Klapper Hall, room 405).
