Asian/American Center

The Asian/American Center (A/AC) at Queens College is dedicated to the development of community-oriented research to analyze the multicultural diaspora experience of Asians in North, Central, and South America and the Caribbean.

The A/AC Library is a non-circulating collection focusing on Asia and the Asian diaspora. This collection is cataloged in CUNY+ as part of the Queens College collection. All items whose location is listed as Asian/American Center (315 Kissena) are located there. The Asian/American Center is in Kissena Hall, which can be found on our campus map, and it is open Monday - Thursday, 9:30 AM - 3:30 PM, or by appointment. They can be reached at 718-997-3050.

John D. Calandra Italian American Institute

The John D. Calandra Italian American Institute is devoted to documenting and preserving the Italian American experience. To this end, it sponsors research, lectures and conferences, administers an exchange program between CUNY and Italian public universities, and maintains a resource library of material relevant to the Italian-American experience. The Calandra Institute has been affiliated with Queens College since 1995, but is located in Manhattan.

The Calandra Institute maintains a non-circulating library collection focusing on materials relevant to Italian American history and culture. Their collection can be searched in their online catalog and is available by appointment only. Please contact the Calandra Institute at 212-642-2094 for more information. The Calandra Institute is located in Manhattan at 25 West 43rd Street.

Louis Armstrong Collection

The Louis Armstrong Collection is owned and managed by the Louis Armstrong House Museum, but it is housed in the Rosenthal Library. It consists of several collections including photographs, instruments, correspondence and more.

To use the Louis Armstrong Collection, you will need to make an appointment. Please see the Armstrong House's website for more information.

Murphy Institute for Worker Education and Labor Studies

The Murphy Institute for Worker Education and Labor Studies, established over twenty years ago at Queens College, offers educational opportunities to union members to meet their career advancement and personal growth needs. It also serves as an academic resource on issues of concern to the labor movement. The Institute constitutes two centers: The Center for Worker Education and the Center for Community, Labor and Policy Studies.

Materials at the Murphy Institute are cataloged in CUNY+ as part of the Queens College collection. All items whose location is listed as Labor Resource Center are at the Murphy Institute. The Murphy Institute is located offsite, in Manhattan, at 25 West 43rd Street.
