Digital Scores: Classical Scores Library
To search or browse for pdf files of scores go to Classical Scores Library. This is a companion resource for Classical Music Library, where you can find streaming audio files (these cannot be downloaded).
- Use the search box to locate specific compositions or composers or
- Select any of the categories on the left-hand menu to browse.

To search multiple fields, select advanced search. Click on “show additional details” to see all field options. For example, all of Benjamin Britten’s works published by Boosey & Hawkes can be searched for by typing “Britten” in the composer field and “Boosey” in the publisher field:

All search results are listed alphabetical order by title with individual movements listed under each title.

Click on the work or movement desired to view and/or print.
Streaming Audio: Classical Music Library
To search or browse for streaming audio files and their accompanying liner notes go to Classical Music Library. (The sound files cannot be downloaded). This is a companion resource to Classical Scores Library, which provides digital scores that can be viewed online or printer.
- Use the search box to locate specific compositions or composers or
- Select any of the categories on the left-hand menu to browse.

Use advanced search to search across multiple fields. For instance, you can search for all recordings of Baroque concertos released between 2000 and 2010. (There is no field for composer in advanced search. You can put the composer’s name in the “Keyword” field.)

As in Classical Scores Library, the results are listed in alphabetical order by composition title with individual movements listed below. By clicking on one of the categories in the top menu, you can narrow your search results by artist, composer, conductor, ensemble, album, etc.

Some albums include liner notes. If liner notes are available, a “View Liner Note” link will appear. All liner notes are PDF files and require Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Streaming Audio: DRAM
To find streaming audio of contemporary American music (including liner notes), including many recordings not held in the Queens College Music Library, go to DRAM. You can select composer, performers, ensembles, instruments, or labels from the lists; browse; or use the search box.

The results can display the album, works, or tracks.

You can access the liner notes by clicking on the album, then clicking on liner notes. This requires Adobe Acrobat Reader. You also have the option of having the audio controls in a popup window or the same window. Albums can be purchased online through the “Buy Online” link. This will take you to the album’s page on the label’s website where you can purchase the CD.
