Research Foundation
Guidelines for REHIRES
A previous Research Foundation employee is considered to be a rehire if their employment was within the past 2 years.

If you are rehiring an employee or want to extend his/her employment or change his/her rate of pay, you must complete the process electronically through the Research Foundation's on-line E-PAF system. You use the E-PAF system by logging in with the same user id and password that you use when viewing your WEB reports (account statements).  If you need help in learning how to use the system, call ORSP or Sharon Brooks at the Research Foundation.

* A new W-4 form is required if an employee has been off payroll for more than 2 months. A New York State IT-2104 form should also be completed if the person wishes to be exempt from City and State taxes.

* Foreign Students should submit an updated copy of their visa information, I-94 or employment authorization card.  F-1 students must obtain a CUNY Verification form from the International Office at Queens College or the Graduate Center each semester, and must supply us with any change in their status.

* A salary justification letter is required for increases of more than 5% during the employees' calendar year. The letter should be specific as to the change and/or increase of responsibilities.

* A retroactive letter is required if a PAF is more than 60 days late stating the reason for the delay.

If you have any questions, please call the Research Office at 997-5400. Thank you for your cooperation.
