The Lady Knights lost their first two games today at the 2008 Northern Division Championships, played at Utica College. QC fell to Hartwick, 16-4, in their first game of the day and later were beaten by Harvard, 13-5.
The Lady Knights got three goals from Shannon Church and one from Carla Cruz against Hartwick. Church scored four more times and Anyela Duarte added another versus Harvard.

The Lady Knights closed out their 2008 home schedule with a 10-6 win over Utica College on Saturday evening in Fitzgerald Gymnasium. Shannon Church led the QC offense with six goals while her sister Rory made nine saves in the win. Carla Cruz added three goals while Jacquline Barnett scored two in the victory.
Shannon had scored four goals and Rory had made 11 stops earlier in the day in a hard fought 10-9 loss to Connecticut College.
The Church's continued their strong play on Sunday in losses to Brown and Harvard at Connecticut College. Shannon scored twice against Brown and three times versus Harvard while Rory stopped 13 and 11 shots, respectively, in the two contests. Barnett added two goals in the Brown game, giving her five on the weekend while Cruz finished with six in four games and Val Varpakhovich added a goal against Harvard.

Shannon Church had five goals and drew three ejections for the Lady Knights in their home opening loss to Iona, 13-5 on Wednesday night. Rory Church made 11 saves in net for a Queens College team that put forth an outstanding effort.
Jacquline Barnett added two assists and drew an ejection and Carla Cruz played tremendous defense while running the Lady Knights' offense.

The Lady Knights defeated Utica College on Saturday in the Snowy Seven Tournament for their first league win in their first league game of the 2008 season. The tournament was the first for all but four QC players.
The win over host Utica followed two tough losses to Gannon and Notre Dame on Saturday. Shannon Church finished the day with eight goals, Carla Cruz had three goals and nine steals and Jacquline Barnett added four goals and three ejections drawn for Queens College.
On Sunday, the Lady Knights dropped two close contests to Boston College and Utica College. Church had five more goals to go along with five ejections drawn. Barnett added two goals and four ejections drawn and Cruz had a goal and six steals for the Lady Knights on Sunday. Brittany Schuler also scored her first career goal, one day after her birthday.
