In 1981, CPSM opened its doors at the Queens College facility at Caumsett on Long Island. We began with 25 students taking classes and a small but enthusiastic faculty.

More than 25 years later, we are now in a state-of-the-art building on thef Queens College campus and have a record enrollment of 425 students and a faculty of over 60. CPSM boasts three orchestras, two choruses, and extensive performance programs. Our alumni and current students bring honor to themselves and CPSM in festivals and competitions at home and overseas.

We welcome you to join our musical family and explore the many opportunities available to students enrolled in the program.

Dr. Donald Pirone,
Director of CPSM

CPSM is a comprehensive music school, offering a wide variety of programs. Courses offerings include: private instruction for all orchestral and band instruments, as well as in piano, voice, guitar, and composition; musicianship; orchestra; wind ensemble; jazz ensemble; chamber music; chorus; Suzuki piano, violin, and cello classes; and Dalcroze classes for the very young.
