Notes

*There was a discussion about the fact that MEDST 240 has MEDST 143, or MEDST 144, or MEDST 200 as prerequisites. The committee in the past has denied approval to PLAS courses that have other PLAS courses as prerequisites. However, given that one of the possible prerequisites for MEDST 240 (MEDST 200) is not a PLAS course, the committee decided that MEDST 240 should be approved as a PLAS course.

Other Business

·         A. Reichl (Political Science) was welcomed as a new member of the committee.

·         C. Vickery was confirmed as committee chair.

·         C. Vickery and J. Summerfield reported to the committee about the General Education Retreat held on January 21, 2010.

·         GEAC members are encouraged to attend the General Education Council Meetings. C. Vickery will attend the meeting on February 25, 2010 and J. Allen will attend the one on April 13, 2010

·         J. Summerfield introduced the topic of the first Presidential Round Table. The committee is encouraged to attend.

Respectfully Sumbitted,
