Proposal with Editorial Change:
The Department of Environmental Science called to our attention a typo in their
application for Environmental Science 100. The course should have been submitted as a
NS-L course and has now been corrected and reviewed by GEAC to ensure that it is in
compliance with the NS-L requirements.

Other Business
- The committee discussed an event, that would be funded by the Provost's office and
co-hosted by CTL and the Teaching Excellence Committee, regarding effective syllabus design
as related both to communicating PLAS requirements to students and to assessment. The Committee
agreed that the presence of a GEAC member at such an event would be useful. Kevin Birth agreed
to participate pending his availability. It was noted that addressing ways to achieve goals
within a variety of teaching styles would be well-received and extremely useful.
- Assessment continued and will continue to be discussed. Pat O'Connor was not available
for the March meeting but has been confirmed to attend the April meeting to help shape and
further this discussion.
Adjournment
The meeting was adjourned at 1:35 PM.
Respectfully submitted,
M. Miller, Recording Secretary
