Course Description

This course is appropriate for all students, including students with no background in music and/or physics. Physical principles are introduced, and these ideas are used to explain phenomena and devices associated with music and the perception of music. Topics include hearing, musical scales and temperaments, history and physics of instruments, objective and subjective measurement of sound, etc.
