Arthur Liblit served in Company C of the 6th Armed Infantry in Sidi Bou Sid, Tunisia in 1943. While serving in the North African locale, he reached the rank of Corporal and received numerous decorations and awards, including the Purple Heart and the World War II Victory Medal.

On 30th of January 1943, a German Panzer Division attacked Allied forces in a nearby valley and managed to stop reinforcements the next day from driving them back. On that same day, the Allied launched an offensive to the south of Sidi Bou Sid that failed as a result of a command split. Arthur Liblit died 31th of January 1943.
