Henry C. Paulsen was assigned to the 95th Infantry Division in the 79th Infantry Regiment upon entering service on 30 June 1943. He and his infantry saw action in areas such as Northern France, the Rhineland, Ardennes-Alsace and Central Europe.

He attaned Prviate First Class by the time he was killed in action on 14th of November 1944. He was decorated with several awards, one of which was the Combat Infantryman Badge. He is buried at the Luxembourg American Cemetery in Luxembourg City, Luxembourgh.
