Kimberly Larkin - Program Director
Kimberly Larkin (Director) holds a MA in Vocal Performance: Concentration in Musical Theatre from NYU and a BA in Music Education from the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College, where she studied both voice and piano.
Ms. Larkin is on the faculty of the Long Island High School for the Arts where she teaches voice in the Musical Theatre Department. She directs a music program she created at St. Andrew Avellino School in Flushing, Queens. She is currently studying voice with renowned Broadway actress/ singer Judith Blazer and is a member of Ms. Blazer's theater company, The Artist's Crossing, of which she was recently appointed a board member. Ms. Larkin's voice students have won numerous competitions, performed lead roles in many local productions and have been accepted to the top college programs in musical theater including Emerson, UArts and NYU.
In October of 2006 Ms. Larkin founded a new theater company, I.M.P.A.C.T. Theatre Group, for young artists ages 11-18. The company has performed at The Wings Theatre and Player's Theatre in NYC and raised over $3,000 for children's charities.
Recently Ms. Larkin has branched into the film/ television industry, doing background/ extra work on the television shows Lipstick Jungle, 30 Rock, Gossip Girl and the feature films Doubt and Did You Hear Abut the Morgans. During the workshop this past summer she also had the amazing opportunity to record a demo CD of a new musical composed by the current associate musical director of Phantom of the Opera on Broadway. This past fall she was a featured soloist in the Off-Off Broadway production, Christmas Rappings.
Brad Bass - Choreographer
Brad Bass (Choreographer) is originally from Ringgold, VA. He was raised on a tobacco farm but always had his sights on New York City. At 18, he left his humble roots and moved to the big apple to attend the American Musical and Dramatic Academy where he was able to study theatre morning, noon, and night! Upon graduating, Brad had already booked his first job at The Gateway Playhouse on Long Island.
Since then his many credits include WICKED (Chicago company) where he played the role of Fiyero, WICKED (on Broadway) where he understudied and played the role of Fiyero. The Pre-Broadway workshop of PURE COUNTRY, and next on his agenda is the brand new Rock N' Roll musical MEMPHIS that begins previews at The Shubert Theatre on Broadway on Sept. 23rd.
Joseph Liccardo - Accompanist
Joseph Liccardo (Accompanist) holds a B.M. in Performance from the Eastman School of Music, where he studied with Dr. Douglas Humpherys. Before college he studied for 12 years at the Center for Preparatory Studies in Music at Queens College with Dr. Donald Pirone. In March 2006, Joseph won first prize in the young artist division of the Music Teachers National Association Piano competition, for which he received a Steinway Model M grand piano.
Joseph currently teaches private piano lessons at the Lawrence Eisman Center for Preparatory Studies in Music. In addition, he works as a freelance pianist in the tri-state area. During the past year, Joseph has traveled extensively throughout China with the renowned pipa player Zhang Hongyan, performing in Hefei, Hangzhou, Shengzhou, and Ning Bo.
Paul Kerekes - Accompanist
Paul Kerekes (Accompanist) is an undergraduate Piano Performance and Composition student at Queens College. He has attended notable programs such as Stony Brook Summer Music Festival, the Young Artists Piano Program at Tanglewood, California Summer Music and Yale's New Music Workshop in Norfolk, CT.
At Queens College, Paul received the Gabriel Fontrier award for achievement as an undergraduate composer and has had the privilege of hearing his music performed by the Second Instrumental Unit, Stonewall Chorale, and the Mannes Preparatory Division Choir. Additionally, Paul enjoys playing the cello, drawing, and painting. He currently studies piano with Donald Pirone and composition with Bruce Saylor.
