2013 Queens College

Summer Vocal Institute for High School Students

August 3 - 10, 2013

 

The Queens Summer Vocal Institute is a workshop designed for high school-aged and college-bound singers, specializing in all areas of vocal performance. This unique workshop will give each young artist a strong foundation of essential tools to excel in the competitive world of vocal performance. Led by acclaimed regional and international professionals, this intensive eight day program includes:

  • Individual voice lessons, coachings, movement and improvisation classes
  • Daily choral and repertoire classes (Classical and Musical Theater repertoire)
  • English and Italian diction instruction of NYSSMA and all repertoire
  • Master Classes from well-known experts in College Preparation skills
  • Final public concert showcasing each performer, digitally recorded

 

Program Specifics

  • Dates: August 3 - 10, 2013
  • Tuition: $850 - 94% tax exempt funding available, limited scholarships available
  • Location: Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College/CUNY in Flushing, NY
  • Open to commuting students aged 15 to 18 - a maximum of 30 participants
  • Live Auditions: Italian and English (Classical or Musical Theatre) songs required

Auditions

Location: New York City
Dates: January 17, 18; February 14, 15 and more in March and April. Contact us for more information.

 

Applications should include:

  • Completed application (click to download)
  • A CD may serve as an audition for singers who are unable to audition
  • $25 audition/application fee (refunded if audition is not granted)
