Dongmyung Ahn

Period violinist Dongmyung Ahn is a performer, educator, and scholar, whose interests span from the twelfth to eighteenth centuries. She is a co-founder of Guido's Ear, an ensemble specializing in music of the Renaissance and early Baroque eras. Ahn regularly performs with the Sebastians, TENET, Early Music New York, Pegasus, The Green Mountain Project, Concert Royal, Sinfonia, Clarion, and Bach Vespers at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in New York. She has also played the rebec in the critically acclaimed production of The Play of Daniel at the Cloisters. A dedicated educator, Dongmyung is director of the Queens College Baroque Ensemble and the string instructor for the Queens College Baroque Opera Workshop. She is a PhD candidate in Musicology at the Graduate Center, City University of New York, where she is a recipient of the Chancellor's Fellowship, and has published an article on medieval liturgy in the Rodopi series Faux Titre.
