The 1st Annual
Bootcamp in Musicology and Theory
at Queens College
August 9 - 11, 2019
The Aaron Copland School of Music, Queens College, City University of New York, invites applications for its first annual Summer Bootcamp in Musicology and Theory.
This three-day camp is designed for advanced undergraduate and early stage graduate students interested in or already pursuing a Masters or a PhD in musicology and/or theory. The camp is an opportunity for students to deepen their understanding of these two closely related fields and, where relevant, to work on an application for graduate school.
The camp will take place in New York City, both on the leafy Queens College campus and in Manhattan. Attendees will take seminars with leading scholars, work closely with one of those scholars on a piece of writing, visit a research library, attend a musical performance, and interact with current students at Queens College and the CUNY Graduate Center. Accommodation and some meals will be provided (the total cost will be no more than $250).
