Jamaica Kincaid is the author of the novels Annie John, Lucy, The Autobiography of My Mother, and Mr. Potter, the collection of stories At the Bottom of the River, and the works of nonfiction A Small Place, My Brother, My Garden (Book), Talk Stories, and Among Flowers: A Walk in the Himalaya. She is the recipient of the Lannan Literary Award for Fiction, and the Prix Fémina Étranger. The Boston Sunday Globe has said: “[Kincaid] writes like an angel: with enviable lucidity and precision and a lyric touch that frequently aspires to the condition of poetry.” Michiko Kakutani, writing in The New York Times, has described the work of Ms. Kincaid as “fierce, incantatory…lyrical…powerful and disturbing.” The Washington Post has said: “Writers wish for perfect readers, but readers wish even harder for perfect writers and rarely find them…Jamaica Kincaid is about as perfect as it’s possible to be.”

In addition to reading from her work, Ms. Kincaid will be interviewed by Leonard Lopate.
