The Office of Honors and Scholarships
Queens College students have been highly successful in winning national scholarship competitions. Among the many prestigious awards Queens students have won are the Marshall, the Fulbright, the Truman, the Jack Kent Cooke, the Boren, and the Goldwater Scholarships. The Office of Honors and Scholarships mentors students for these prestigious awards by reviewing their essays and holding mock interviews to help students hone their interview skills.
The Office additionally maintains a website with an extensive list of scholarships and assists students in identifying and applying for awards that are appropriate to their academic and career goals. The Office of Honors and Scholarships serves also to support the Queens College Scholars and provides advisement for students in the Freshman Honors program.

"I'll never forget my friend Rudy from High School who got a full scholarship to Harvard. I decided to come to Queens College because of its affordability. At the time, my friends were mourning my decision, but as it turned out, my freshman year at Queens College I won the Watson Fellowship, I got an internship at Newsday, and I met a great group of friends. I got a call from Rudy recently who was complaining that it's only him and his books at Harvard. That's when I realized that choosing Queens College was the best and the smartest decision ever."
