Upward Bound is a federally funded college preparatory program for Queens High School Students from low income families whose parents have not graduated from a four-year college or university.
The project is divided into two parts: a non-residential summer program followed by a ten-month academic year component that serves as a supplement to instruction at the home school.
The program is intense, personal, and exciting, offering young students an opportunity to maximize their success in high school, while at the same time preparing themselves for entrance into college.
Opportunities exist for current Queens College graduate and undergraduate students to serve as tutor/counselors, counselors/interns, and mentors for the program.
