Food, Culture and Society in Florence
APICIUS - The Culinary Institute of Florence
Description
Recommended for students with an interest in Italian food traditions, and society culture. This course focuses on what is generally defined as "made in Italy": culture and style in post-war Italy. Lectures will cover topics such as the role of women in Italian society, the survival of superstitions, food and wine as cultural traditions, the effect of social change on culture and style. Course activities include field trips, cooking and wine tasting lessons, audio-visual material.
