The Universidad Antonio de Nebrija, located in Madrid, has a Center exclusively dedicated to the teaching of Spanish Language and Culture. The Center for Hispanic Studies offers an international environment within a Spanish university. Each program includes cultural activities (visits to museums and other sites of interest).

The Spanish courses are intended for those persons who would like to learn or improve their Spanish from the beginning level to the most advanced level. June and July programs offer courses in Spanish language and culture in six different levels depending on the Spanish proficiency of our students. The programs of June and July also offer other specialized courses.

Language courses


During the June and July programs, there are 20 hours of class per week in all the levels. In these programs, there are courses of Language and Spanish Culture in six different levels, from the Beginner level to the Proficiency level. In each level, except for the Beginners, there are two courses, which are intended to offer a wider variety of contents.

Classical Literature - Spanish 350 - June
A study of the most representative works of these characters: Fernando de Rojas' La Celestina and Tirso De Molina's Don Juan
Contemporary Literature - Spanish 357 - June
A study of the development of Twentieth Century Spanish theatre.
Classical Literature - Spanish 356 - July
Women in Golden Age Literature. Analysis of works about women or written by women.
Contemporary Literature - Spanish 359 - July
Panorama of Spanish postwar prose up to the present. Principle movements.

Culture and Civilization

Spain Today (Intermediate) - Spanish 310 - June
The course focuses on improving oral fluency and studying the four linguistic skills (listening, speaking, writing and reading that are being studies in the Language course.
Art and Civilization (Advanced) - Spanish 780 - June (Graduate)
A general view of the political, social, economical and culture history of Spain.
Spain Today (Intermediate) - Spanish 310 - July
The course focuses on improving oral fluency and studying the four linguistic skills (listening, speaking, writing and reading that are being studies in the Language course.
Contemporary Spain (Advanced) - Spanish 780 - July (Graduate)
A panorama of Twentieth Century Spain. This course focuses of the most important aspects of the political life of Spanish society: Spanish Civil War, Franco, Spanish Democratic Transition.
