President   Chain-of-Office
President James Muyskens (ctr.) displays the Chain-of-Office that will be worn by QC presidents at future commencements. The chain, which records the names and tenures of all nine QC presidents, was the result of a collaboration between Jared Rifkin (Biology, l.), who was chief marshal at the 2005 Commencement, and Joseph Brostek (Special Events, r.). Eighteen past chief marshals contributed to the purchase of the chain.

Golf Outing   Teeing Off for a Great Cause
The Queens College Foundation’s Second Annual Golf & Tennis Classic, held September 17 at the Fresh Meadow’s Country Club in Lake Success, was a huge success in every way. The event, which honored Robert Wann ’82 (second from left), Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of New York Bancorp, raised money in support of athletic scholarships.

Homecoming   Homecoming
Among the many events at September's Homecoming Weekend was a raffle for this QC throw held by (l. to r.) Angelika Ostrowski ’10 and alums Rosa Rea Braut ’06, Clara Parker ’02, and Oliver Torrentejo ’01. Abetted by beautiful fall weather, a full day of events began with brunch under a tent on the quad, followed by a variety of activities—including a women’s soccer game, a jazz presentation, class reunions—before concluding with an evening reception under the tent.
