CUNY Writing Fellow Office Hours
There
are six CUNY Writing Fellows at Queens College. Their offices are located
on the third floor of Razran Hall.
Each Writing
Fellow holds two office hours per week. During this time, s/he meets with
students individually or in small groups.
- Office hours provide
students with the opportunity to follow-up on or receive further guidance
with regard to topics covered in workshops conducted by Fellows. Therefore,
office hours are primarily for meetings with students enrolled in courses
in which Fellows have given lectures or conducted workshops.
- Because of the limited
nature of Fellows' office hours, meetings cannot exceed approximately
thirty minutes for individual meetings and sixty minutes for group meetings.
-
If a Writing Fellow is available, s/he will meet with drop-in students who
are not enrolled in courses s/he is working with.
-
The Writing Center (Kiely Hall, Room 229; (718) 997-5676)
offers one-on-one in-person and online tutoring designed to assist students
in improving writing skills. One goal of student meetings with Fellows can
be to identify students' specific needs. The Fellow can then refer a student
to the Writing Center for more extensive assistance and communicate that
student's specific needs to the Writing Center.
