How to Put Your Web Pages on qcpages.qc.cuny.edu
Download and install the software applications you need (Note: all of these are FREE)
1) A web authoring tool - This is what you will use to create
your web pages. I recommend that you use Kompozer or Seamonkey Composer,
(used to be Mozilla Composer but this was discontinued), since
it is free and also available on the computers on campus. Download Kompozer. (Tutorial)
2) WinSCP - This is what you will use to upload and download
files. Download
WinSCP here. Mac users can download Filezilla and it
works in a similar way to WinSCP
3) The GIMP - This application can be used to edit images and
to create graphics for your web site. Download the GIMP here.
(OPTIONAL: YOU ONLY NEED TO DOWNLOAD THIS IF YOU WANT
TO EDIT IMAGES)
4) Audacity - This is a sound editing application. Download Audacity
here. (OPTIONAL: YOU ONLY NEED TO DOWNLOAD
THIS IF YOU WANT TO EDIT SOUNDS)
