ACCOMMODATIONSNew York City offers a great variety of accommodations, to suit every style and budget. We have put together a list of hotels, based on distance from the conference site and on typical rates. Each of these hotels has been visited by a member of our team; however, CUNY can take no responsibility for the provision of satisfactory service. General InformationRates change daily at hotels, especially in New York City. The rates are never low in Manhattan, but it may well be possible for find a reasonable price, as some hotels are experiencing reduced occupancy. If you have the time, take it to shop around. Do remember that rooms in Manhattan are small (even the grocery aisles and shopping carts are small here)! And if you are using the subway to get to the Graduate Center, be aware that the routes do change from time to time. Just double check at your hotel upon arrival. New York charges a 13.25% city and state tax (combined) plus a $2.00 per-person per-night occupancy tax for hotel rooms. These taxes are not included in the descriptions below. Also, many hotels have internet stations in the rooms for a charge of about $11 per day including tax. Usually the 24-hour charge period runs from noon to noon, but be sure to ask at the front desk.
