Victoria Yagudayeva is currently double majoring in communication sciences and disorders and psychology at Queens College. Victoria started as a research assistant in the Developmental Disabilities lab and assisted on coding videos from SIBS Club. She eventually joined SIBS Club and continued to examine the effects that ABA had on children with autism and their typically developing siblings. After SIBS Club, Victoria completed an internship where she was able to continue to work with children with autism and implement ABA services. She still works in the lab where she assists on various projects and has the ability to research her own interests, which include comparing the impacts of various intervention approaches. She looks forward to continuing her work in the lab and eventually hopes to bridge the gap between ABA and developmental approaches.

Here is my information, thank you!

I first stepped into the SIBS lab as an undergraduate in the Elementary Education program at Queens College. Aiming to pursue a degree in Special Education and with personal experience within the Autism community, I hoped this program would help me gain knowledge in ABA. Immediately I was immersed in a culture of acceptance and growth, where each colleague was dedicated to helping learners achieve skills that would help them thrive socially, and deepen bonds with their siblings. My ultimate goal is to work as a Special Education teacher within District 75 and also earn my BCBA certification. Though new to the field of research, I am very interested in the research focus of SIBS and in exploring the relationships of siblings and learners living with special needs. I am also interested in research focused on effective teaching strategies within different communities and for unique learning needs, and transitional services as children enter adulthood and strive for a happy and independent life.
