Architecture and design in the Art Nouveau period was largely characterized by an emphasis on beauty and elaborate decoration. There is a considerable amount of varaition between architect and architect when it comes to Art Nouveau design. Victor Horte worked in Belgium, and is often considered the father of Art Nouveau architecture. One of his most famous designs is the Tassel House in Brussels.
