| This workshop is aimed towards the topics of differential cohomology theories, including differential (ordinary) cohomology and differential K-theory, abelian gerbes, algebraic K-theory, free loop spaces, and connections with topological field theories. The goal is to bring together researchers in these areas, from graduate students to senior researchers, to present fundamental material as well as to exchange ideas on recent progress and to lay out new directions for research. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Lecture abstracts can be found together here. Registration:Due to the lecture room capacity of 57 persons, we ask that all participants register. To register, please e-mail the organizers (Scott Wilson, scott.wilson@qc.cuny.edu) and include your name, institution (if any), whether you are a student or faculty, and whether you are requesting funding for travel and/or hotel (see travel info below). If applicable, please include an estimate of your travel costs (not including hotel). Efforts will be made to provide some support for participants who request it, with preference given to graduate students.The organizers particularly encourage the participation of faculty and students of underrepresented groups. Travel Info:The Graduate Center is located at 365 Fifth Avenue, at 34th Street, diagonally from the Empire State Building and three blocks from Penn Station. These can be reached via public transportation (subway, taxi) from JFK or LaGuardia airports. There is also a train between Newark airport (NJ) and Penn Station. Please contact the organizers if you have travel questions.A block of rooms has been reserved at Hotel Chandler, located at Twelve East 31st Street, between Fifth and Madison Avenues, three blocks from The Graduate Center. In order to receive the group rate of $229 per night for the nights of Aug. 11th through 14th, please contact Ms. Joanna Beletic at 646-218-4445 and mention this workshop. Bookings must be established by July 10th in order to receive the group rate. Although The Graduate Center does not have child care facilities for participants, there are child care services available throughout the metropolitan area, with opportunities for child care specialists to visit onsite. Some resources for child care information, giving full background checks, credentials including medical and professional accreditations, and complete previous experience for day care centers, sitters, and au pairs are the websites www.care.com and www.sittercity.com.
