Write an essay about your favorite place with a title like: 私の一番好きな 〜. This must be 1.5 ~ 2 sheets long (600 ~ 800 characters). It should be written in plain forms. You can write about a real place or a fantasy place. Your choice. You can describe the place, explain why you like it, describe the kinds of things you do there. A draft of the essay is due in class on (Queens: Oct 11th, Tuesday) and (Brooklyn: Oct 12th, Wednesday). These will be returned the following week. The final draft is due on (Queens: Oct 25th, Friday) and (Brooklyn: Oct 26th, Wednesday). Follow the conventions discussed in class:

　
• Write vertically from right to left 　
• The first column is the essay title 　
• The second column is your name 　
• The third column is blank

The first paragraph of the essay begins in the third column. The first box of a new paragraph is also left blank. After that, there are no blank boxes until the end of a paragraph. "Small" symbols and puncuation are written in the upper right quarter of a box. If a sentence ends at the bottom of a column, the puncuation is placed outside of the grid (i.e. puncution does not appear in the top box of a given column).
