MATH 141 Additional Resources
The online material found on WebAssign provides a wealth of extra support for our course. As further supplementary
reading, I can recommend
Adrian Branner, The Calculus Lifesaver: All the tools you need to excel at
calculus, Princeton University Press, 2007, ISBN-13: 978-0691130880
This is a tutorial written in a friendly and engaging style, and has many good explanations
and well-chosen examples if you intend to work on your computational skills. At 752 pages, it's also very reasonably priced. The book has an accompanying webpage with links to videos of
the author's lectures on various calculus topics. Check them out by clicking on the author's photo on the right.
The official website of Stewart's book
contains many additional examples, animations, Java applets and other cool
stuff. While I urge you to spend most of your time reading the text, doing problems, and
thinking, it might be fun to visit this site from time to time and check out the relevant
material.
