Read chapters 1 and 2 of the text.

chapter 2: 1 (ii), 2 (i) [there is also a geometric picture behind this sum; can you discover it?], 5, 6, 12, 14.

Read chapter 3 of the text (you may skip the appendix on ordered pairs).

Do the following problems:

chapter 3: 1, 3, 4, 5, 11(a,b,c), 12(a,b,c), 13, 23, 25, 27.

Read chapter 4 of the text (skip the three appendices).

Do the following problems:

chapter 4: 1(i-v), 3(i-viii), 4(i,ii,iii), 6, 11, 13, 14, 17(ii,v).

Read chapter 5 of the text, pages 90-96.

Do the following problems:

chapter 5: 1, 2, 3(ii), 8(a), 13 (this is often known as the "Sandwich Lemma"), 15(i-iv).

Read chapter 6 of the text.

Do the following problems, write up the ones in red and hand them in by 10/27:

chapter 5: 33(ii,iv), 34, 39(v,vii).

chapter 6: 2 (do it only for problem 4-17 parts (i) and (ii)), 3(a,c), 13, 14.

Read chapter 7 of the text (you may skip Theorems 10 and 11).
