MATH 208: Honors Calculus IV

Spring 2007

Description and goals:

This is an introduction to integral calculus in several variables, with emphasis on two and three dimensional problems. It culminates in a rather rigorous treatment of classical theorems of vector analysis as well as some ideas of global differential geometry of surfaces.

The course is a continuation of Math 207. As such, a solid background in multivariable differential calculus is assumed. But the true prerequisite for the course is the intellectual curiosity to learn about a nice piece of mathematics and the willingness to think.
