MAT 364 Texts and References
There are several textbooks on elementary Topology and Geometry.
For this course, we will suggest [1] and [2] below. However,
keep in mind that we will not be following either one closely.
[1] S. Huggett and D. Jordan, A Topological Aperitif,
Springer Verlag, 2001.
[2] G. Flegg, From Geometry to Topology, Dover Publications,
2001.
The following books provide supplementary material for the course.
You can also use them as references, or just read them to
gain different perspectives.
[3] V. Prasolov, Intuitive Topology, American Mathematical
Society, 1994.
[4] D. Farmer and T. Stanford, Knots and Surfaces: A Guide to
Discovering Mathematics, American Mathematical Society, 1996.
