Update Wednesday, March 18. We will be transitioning to an online class using Google Classroom for the remainder of the semester. - Due Wednesday January 29. Read section 1.1 in the textbook and do exercises 1, 7, 11, 13, 17, 21, 25, 31, 35, 53
- Due Monday Feb 3. Read section 1.2 in the textbook and do exercises 1, 5, 19, 21. Read section 1.3 in the textbook. Pay particular attention to the examples in section 1.3
- Due Wednesday Feb 5. Read section 1.3 and do exercises 1, 5, 9, 11, 19, 47, 49. Also read section 1.4. Remember, there is an exam scheduled for in class on Monday, February 10.
- Here are the quizzes and solutions from Jan 29 and Feb 3.
- Due Monday Feb 10. Read section 1.4 and do exercises 1, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 15, 17, 25, 35, 37, 41, 47, 54.
- The exam on Monday, February 10 will cover sections 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, and 1.4 in the book. The exam will consist of ten to twenty problems. Each problem will be similar to the homework and quiz questions. Expect a mix of multiple choice, true/false, and short answer problems. You will have the entire class period to work on the exam.

- Due Wednesday February 19. Read sections 1.5 in the textbook and do exercises 1, 7, 8, 9, 10, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 30, 31, 39 in section 1.5. Neatly write up your solutions to problems 28, 31, and 39 and I'll collect those solutions on Wednesday, February 19. Also, read section 1.6 in the book and do exercise 3 in section 1.6. Remember, there is no class on Wednesday, February 12 and no class on Monday, February 17.
- Due Wednesday, February 26. Read section 1.6 and do exercises 1, 2, 3, 4, 9, 13, 15, 18, 19, 23, 24.
- Due Monday, March 2. Read section 1.7 and do exercises 1, 3, 7, 9, 10, 11, 13, 19, 24, 30. Read section 1.8.
- Due Wednesday, March 4. Read section 1.8. Pay close attention to the examples. Do exercises 2, 6, 9, 15, 16, 18, 25, 26, 41.
- Due Wednesday, March 11. Read section 2.1. Do exercises 7, 8, 11, 15, 19, 21, 26, 33, 34, 35, 40, 43. Read section 2.2. Do exercises 1, 3, 5, 14, 15.
- Due Monday, March 16. Read section 2.3. Do exercises 3, 5, 10, 11, 12, 13, 33, 35, 42, 43, 46, 47.
- The university is currently in recess so there will be no class on Monday, March 16 and no class (and no exam) on Wednesday, March 18. See https://www.cuny.edu/coronavirus/. I will post more information about how this course will proceed beginning on Monday, March 23 when I have more information.
