- Due Wednesday, Jan 29. Watch the videos for sections 1A, 1B, 1C and carefully read sections 1A, 1B, and 1C. Complete the quiz0.pdf
- Due Monday, Feb 3. Watch the videos for sections 2A, 2B, 2C. Complete the review problems for chapter 1: review1.pdf.
- Due Wednesday, Feb 5. Read section 2A, 2B, and 2C carefully. Do problems 1--6 of the chapter 2 review: review2.pdf.
- Due Monday, Feb 10. Read section 2A, 2B, and 2C carefully. Complete the chapter 2 review: review2.pdf. Carefully write up your solution to problem 10 to turn in on Monday, February 10. Also, remember, there is an exam on Monday, February 10. It will cover chapters 1 and 2 of the textbook.

- Due Wednesday, Feb 19. Watch the videos for sections 3A and 3B. Do exercises 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 14 in section 3A and exercise 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 20, 21 in section 3B. Remember, there is no class on Wednesday, February 12 and no class on Monday, February 17.. Write up your solutions to the following problems and I'll collect them on Wednesday the 19th.

- Due Monday, Feb 24. Watch the videos for section 3C. There are two of them: one on matrices for linear maps and one for matrix multiplication. Read section 3C, paying particular attention to the examples. Also, you should do some exercises from section 3B on compositions of linear maps. Exercises 20, 21, 22, 23 in section 3B are good ones.

- Due Monday, March 2. I'll cover sections 3C and 3D this week. I think these sections are important. Study these sections, watch the videos for 3D. Here are some reveiw problems for those sections: review3C.pdf.

- Remember, there is an exam on Wednesday, March 4.. It will cover the material through section 3D. In particular, since the last exam, we've covered sectons 3A, 3B, 3C, and 3D. I wrote solutions to the review problems I posted from sections 3C and 3D, and I added some extra notes at the end in response to some of the more common questions I've received:
- review3C_solns.pdf updated 3/4: I corrected a couple typos where "Nullspace" didn't print.
- Here is the second exam: exam2.pdf and exam2_solns.pdf. Correction: thank you to the several people that pointed out that the answer to 3 is C, not B. My explanation of the solution was correct, but I mistakenly put the wrong letter down for the answer. I corrected the answers now.
- Due Monday, March 9. Watch the videos for sections 3E. The second exam was relatively short since it was given in class. So, some topics didn't make the cut. For some more prolems involving material from sections 3A, 3B, 3C, 3D, check out this old exam math231_exam2.pdf.
- More homework for this weekend (by request!). After watching the videos for 3E, read the section. This is about products and quotients of vector spaces. To check that you're getting the idea about products, try exercises 1 and 2 in 3E and to check that you're getting the idea about quotients, try exercises 13 and 18 in 3E.
- Due Monday, March 16. In section 3E, do problems 3, 5, 6, 7, 12, 14, 15, 16, 17, 19, 20. Read 3F and watch the videos and do exercises 1, 2, and 3.
- The university is currently in recess so there will be no class on Monday, March 16 and no class on Wednesday, March 18. See https://www.cuny.edu/coronavirus/. I will post more information about how this course will proceed beginning on Monday, March 23 when I figure that out.
