Homework 9, Due 11/19
Read sections 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 and 5.7 (up to "Masses
distributed over a plane region") of the book (Thomas/Finney).
Make sure you are able to solve all the core
problems in these sections.
Read pages 207-209 of the MAPLE manual to learn how to draw
solids of revolution and find their volumes.
Write up the following problems and hand them in:
Page 377 problems 2 (draw simple pictures by hand for (c) and
(d) like the ones given for (a) and (b)), 6.
Page 385 problems 4, 14, 26, 34, 38 (in all these problems,
it helps to draw a simple picture of the region by hand, then revolve it to
see roughly what the solid looks like).
Page 392 problems 2, 10, 30.
