Creating a Bibliography

A bibliography is a list of sources used (not necessarily just those cited) in a research paper. Keep careful track of what resources you use throughout your research. This will allow you to revisit sources and keep a complete bibliography for your project.

As you begin your research, keep a list of sources used. These will include dictionary and encyclopedia entries, books, articles, and possibly scores and recordings. (Scores and recordings should be included in the bibliography but do not need to be cited in the body of the text.)

Once you have a list of resources, create a bibliography document and format each entry using the appropriate style. See Citation Styles and Footnotes and Citations for details.
