- Watch Sumopaint in Action first
- Use
sumopaint to draw a quick sketch of a computer scientist. Save
the file as your-name-cs.gif and then post your image by attaching it
to a message on the forum in Science Moodle.

10:00 to 11:00 Class ActivityToday's Technology Tool is Windows Movie MakerMake a video - Using
the Flip Mino video camera, each team should make a short video
introducing the topic of your Worldchanging project.
- Take
a sheet of paper and draw a vertical line. On the left side, write
down what you will do during the video. On the right side, write down
what you will say. Rehearse before you record your video.
- Save the video file in your digital portfolio on your usb flash drive.

11:00 to 12:00 - Teams work on projects - post progress reports on
forum
Homework assignment - Making and Sharing Digital FlashcardsRead one or more of the following:
- Computer Hardware
- Software
- Sign up for a free account with http://quizlet.com.
- Read "How do I get started?" and watch a demo video
- Make
a least 10 flash cards. Each flash card should have the name of a
computer part on one side with an explanation of its function and how
it works on the other. Share your set of flash cards by posting a link to your flash cards on the forum in
Science Moodle.

I created related to how the Internet works. I created a group
called qsisummer2009 where we can share our cards. I will send
you invitations to this group during class, remind me if you don't get
an invitation.

You can use Mojopac to install Google sketchup sketchup.google.com on your usb flash drive. If you want to do this, ask the instructor for help.
- View the Google sketchup tutorials first.
- Or, you can use the self-paced tutorials.
- Draw
a 3D diagram using Google Sketchup of something related to your group's
topic. Save the image in your digital portfolio and upload it to
the forum in Science Moodle.
