Overview
Math 143 is the third course in a three term calculus sequence. After a short unit on techniques of integration and improper integrals, the course continues with an in depth study of infinite sequences and infinite series, culminating with power series and their applications. A grade of C- or better in Math 142 is required to enroll in Math 143.

The textbook
The textbook for the course is Stewart's Essential Calculus 2nd ed. Here are some options for obtaining the text and getting access to the online homework:
- Students who have purchased the textbook from the Queens College bookstore ($145) will get a printed card with a webassign access code giving them webassign access for the entire course.
- Students have the option of buying the ebook version of the text ($110 for lifetime access, $75 for one semester access) directly through webassign.net, which also provides access to webassign for the entire course.

- Students who want to purchase access to webassign without being bundled with any version of the text can do so at www.cengagebrain.com. Search for ISBN 9781285858494, complete the purchase. It costs $65.
Course Grades
Course grades will be determined as follows:
- An in-class midterm exam on integration (20%)
- A comprehensive in-class final exam (40%)
- Online homework (40%)

The in-class exams are scheduled for the following days:
- Midterm exam: Tuesday, March 4
- Final Exam: 8:00am-10:30am on Friday, May 16
