Yago S. Cura is an apostle of Information Literacy currently seeking a position as an Instruction & Outreach Librarian. He has worked as an Information Assistant at Queens College's Rosenthal Library, and an Adjunct Academic Librarian at the Learning Resource Center of Bronx Community College.

Yago
co-edits Hinchas de Poesia, an online literary poetry journal, and regularly publishes his poetry in journals and literary magazines. In 2007, his manuscript, Spicaresque, was a finalist in the National Poetry Series; in 2008, the same manuscript was a finalist in the Andres Montoya / U. of Notre Dame Poetry Prize. Yago's poetry has appeared in 2nd Avenue, Lungfull!, COMBO, LIT, U.S. Latino Review, Borderlands, Exquisite Corpse, FIELD, and Slope. Yago's reviews have appeared in The St. Mark's Poetry Project Ne w sletter.

In 1999, UMASS-Amherst awarded Yago an ALANA (African, Latino, Asian/ Pacific Islander & Native American) Diversity Fellowship. In 2007, the American Library Association awarded him a Spectrum scholarship to subsidize his studies. In 2009, the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at Queens College/ C.U.N.Y. awarded his efforts spreading the gospel of multiculturalism with the David Cohen Multicultural Award.

Yago currently lives in New York City and moderates the Harlem YMCA Indoor Soccer League, and the Spanglish-language blog, http://spicaresque.blogspot.com. To date, his blog has received more than 8,500 visitors. As an Argentine-American poet and educator, he is uniquely positioned to facilitate the instruction of U.S. & Latin American history, politics, and literature. He holds an Initial Teachin License from the state of New York, and was a NYC Teaching Fellow from 2004-2007.

Currently, he is a part-time program associate at the Bronx Institute, Lehman College and a simultaneous interpreter for The Children's Law Center (a not-for-profit that represents children in Brooklyn and the Bronx Family Courts).
