For the undergraduate student, the ACSM offers a B.A. with a
major in music; a B.Mus. for the performance major; a B.A. for
the music education major who requires New York State or City
certification; and a B.A. for the cultural music major who does
not intend to become a professional musician. At the master's
level, the Copland School offers M.A. programs in music history,
theory, composition, performance (vocal, instrumental and
conducting) and jazz, and an M.S. in music education. Doctoral
degrees (Ph.D. and D.M.A.) are offered through The Graduate
School and University Center of The City University of New York,
in which many of the Queens College faculty participate.
