Mary Hastings
Mary has been a member of the Aaron Copland School of Music adjunct faculty since 1992. She received her Bachelor of Music degree at Manhattan School of Music and her Master of Music degree at The Juilliard School both in Trumpet Performance. Mary’s performance career includes recitals throughout France, England and Germany as well as performing in over 15 Broadway shows. In 1986 Mary received the Nadia and Lili Boulanger Foundation Award to support an intensive three-year study in Paris with a focus on French contemporary trumpet literature.
Alongside her performance career Mary is an active fundraiser for arts and education, having served as Executive Director of the American London Symphony Orchestra Foundation, Acting Chief Development Officer for The Boys’ Club of New York, Director of Development for The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music and The New School for Drama, Director of Special Events for The Foundation for Jewish Culture and Director of Education and Community Outreach at the Bloomingdale School of Music.
