Biographical Information:
Michael Oelbaum, a New Yorker, attended the Mannes College of Music where he was a pupil of Nadia Reisenberg. He has been presented in recital on several occasions under the auspices of Young Concert Artists and received study grants from the Martha Baird Rockefeller fund of Music. He has appeared nationwide as a recitalist as well as a guest soloist with orchestras and has participated as chamber musician at the Marlboro Music Festival. His international appearances include recitals in London, Helsinki, and St. Petersburg. Presentations on a lecture/recital format on Bach and Beethoven has taken him to Oxford University in England, the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, and The Juilliard School. In addition, his recording of Beethoven's "Diabelli" Variations on Bridge Records has received great critical acclaim.
