Biographical Information:
Peter Calandra is a New York City-based composer for films and television, as well as a keyboard player. He served as Pianist, Conductor and Musical Director for the award winning original NYC production of Little Shop of Horrors and was principal keyboard player for the Broadway production of Miss Saigon for 10 years. He has played for the Broadway productions of Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, and currently part time for The Lion King. Peter has performed and recorded with the NY Pops Orchestra, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Don Cherry, Aretha Franklin, Allen Ginsberg and Lillianne Montevecchi. He spent 16 years as keyboard player in the NYC based artist/musician Larry Rivers' "Climax Band".
Peter has scored over 40 films and his music has been heard thousands of times in television shows for over 68 major television networks including the themes for shows on Comcast Sports, FOX Sports, ABC, Bravo, MSG Network and many others. He currently has music playing and published in 60 countries across the globe and had the soundtracks to the films Unknown Soldier and Jellysmoke released on the Moviescore Media label. Peter has released five independent solo albums featuring the best of his piano based music, including his most recent, "Inner Circle", all of which are available on iTunes. Peter is also currently teaching courses in Pro Tools Sequencing, Content Creation and Music Technology at the Aaron Copland School of Music.
