Voice Performance
Youn Ju Namkoong enjoys a versatile career as a pianist, coach and teacher in her native New York City. Some career highlights include coach and assistant conductor for Don Pasquale with Opera New Jersey and La Traviata at the Aspen Festival under conductor Julius Rudel. Before joining the faculty at Queens College in 2010, Youn Ju was a young artist coach at Tulsa Opera and Opera New Jersey and was a staff pianist for a number of years at Rice and Northwestern Universities.
Youn Ju has had the privilege of performing as a soloist and chamber musician in various parts of Europe and the United States including many of the major venues in New York such as Carnegie, Weill and Merkin Halls. She has been a soloist with the Queens Symphony Orchestra and has appeared on KUHF Houston Radio.
Being an avid educator, Youn Ju maintains a very busy studio in Queens and on Long Island and currently is on faculty at the Aaron Copland School of Music, coaching voice and teaching collaborative piano. Youn Ju holds a Master of Music from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Music from the Manhattan School of Music while her formative years were spent training at the Juilliard Pre-College Division.
